As a parent, you want the best for your child and Columbus Kids is here to help. With our free Learning Checkups you can make sure that your preschooler is ready for a positive start that will lead to success in school and in life.
It may seem too early to think about kindergarten when your child is only two to four years old, but it's the best time to find potential challenges that can make it harder for your child to learn. Learning Checkups are a quick and easy way to determine your child's skills and check for speech, hearing and learning problems. And, we'll help you find the services your child might need to be ready to learn from the first day of school.
It's as easy as 1-2-3:
- You can sign up for a Learning Checkup through your child's early care and learning program, home care professional or by calling our hotline at 614-241-3089. Columbus Kids also provides Learning Checkups at locations around the city. You'll be given a Learning Checkup to complete with your child and return to your early learning professional or to one of our participating locations. The form takes only minutes to complete. We'll contact you for any services that your child may need and refer you to organizations that can help.
- You'll complete a Learning Checkup with your child every six months to follow your child's progress until he or she begins kindergarten.
- You'll receive a $20 gift card each time you complete and turn in your child's Learning Checkup.And your child receives a free book!
