What is a Learning Checkup?
A Learning Checkup is a short series of questions that you answer with your child to determine your child’s current skills and abilities, and check for speech, hearing and vision problems.  It takes only ten to 15 minutes to complete.

How often do I complete a Checkup?
Your child should have a Learning Checkup every six months between the ages of two and a half through four, until they enter kindergarten.

Can all of my children participate?
All preschool children, ages two and a half through four living in the Columbus City Schools district, are eligible.

How will I get the results of the Checkup?
Your childcare professional or a Columbus Kids staff member will provide feedback on your child’s progress.

Is this for all kids in Columbus?
Yes.  Every child two and a half through four years of age is eligible.  But, Columbus Kids will be phased in over time so check our start dates and locations to determine if Learning Checkups are offered in your neighborhood.

Who can I talk to about the program?
